[...] Sterling Silver Turkish Roundmaille Necklace | Chainmaille By MBOI [...]
I purchased the Sterling Silver Turkish Roundmaille Necklace over a year ago and still love wearing it. Oddly, just one 3 inch section seems darker; I presume it is tarnished. Can you tell me the best way to return it to it’s previously beautiful state. The lemon in water trick that seems to work for my copper chain doesn’t seem to work. Thanks and have a great day.
Your right don’t use the lemon juice on silver, only on copper. Believe it or not just use some regular white tooth paste and an old tooth brush. Scrub it real good and wash it off. If you don’t like your necklace smelling minty fresh then just wash with regular dish washing soap and rinse it off. The tarnish is natural, but the darker tarnish is probably oils and sweet from your skin. That should take care of it and I’m glad you are still enjoying your necklace. Please let me know if you need more help.
Thanks,
Andrew
Try soaking in lemon water
Hi,
Indeed I’ve heard about the tooth paste to clean silver many years ago.
I guess that there are these kind of immersion procedures evolving some sort of electricity.
Since the tooth paste has fluor, which is acid, I guess that you should clean it carefuly after.
Kind regards,
José
